Workflow Discovery
Workflow Discovery is an opt-in feature on Business, Enterprise, and during trial (max 2 Discovery runs). Once a week CallMerlin reviews account signals (tasks, alerts, connections, insights) and proposes up to 3 automations in Slack.
What you get
- At most 1 Slack message per week per account
- Per proposal: Create draft, Not now, Snooze 1 wk
- No auto-execution. "Create draft" saves a workflow with status draft
Enable
- Open Automations in the dashboard
- Turn on Enable Discovery
- Choose Slack DM or channel
- Connect Slack and link at least one Slack user to a PIN
Without opt-in nothing runs, even on Business.
Activate a draft
After "Create draft", the workflow appears under Automations in the dashboard with status draft. It belongs to your PIN and is available in every CallMerlin channel where that PIN is active (Slack, Teams, webchat, desktop, app, phone).
Discovery creates a personal draft: only you activate it via CallMerlin (not via the dashboard Activate draft button).
- Open Automations in the dashboard to review the draft, or ask in any channel:

- Ask to activate, e.g.
@CallMerlin activate the draft [name]or@CallMerlin make [name] active - If there are blockers (e.g. missing PIN rights), CallMerlin explains what is still missing; only then does the workflow become active
Your PIN needs Build workflows via chat/voice to activate a draft.
Admin drafts (not from Discovery): use Activate draft in the dashboard.
Only active workflows run on schedule or manual trigger.
Privacy
Discovery uses account signals and a limited Slack sample (only if you set a channel ID). Proposals and runs stay under your account. External writes happen only after you activate a draft and the workflow actually runs.
